Hare Gifts

A charming hare boxing or dancing under a full moon on this beautifully textured pewter keyring on a stainless steel ring. Hare in moon keychains, perfect gifts for hare lovers.

Hares are famous for their energetic behaviour, and are known to ‘box’ frantically with one another, especially during the month of March. The 'mad March hares' boxing usually occurs when a male is being too persistent with a female and when she’s had enough, she'll turn round and fend him off in a fierce boxing match!

The silver coloured boxing, dancing hare and moon is 4.6 cm (1.8 inches) in diameter. The stainless steel ring is 2.6 cm (1 inch) round. Comes packaged in an organza pouch. However, if you select gift wrapping, the keyring will come in a gift wrapped black presentation box.

The Salisbury Hare

Our Boxing, Dancing Hare keyring is based on the old English folk tale of The Salisbury Hare, a tale originating from Wiltshire (where we live and work).

The legend tells of a hare that dances during a full moon, and anyone who sees the hare dance is said to have good fortune for the rest of their days. It was believed the hare only appeared to those of an innocent nature, whom the hare saw as vulnerable to tricksters and therefore in need of its protection.
The Salisbury hare in the moon remained a popular Wiltshire folk legend for over 500 years and its invocation was used as blessing of good fortune.

Pewter

Every Glover and Smith hare and moon key ring is handmade from polished, solid lead-free English pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and completely nickel-free. Because our designs are all created in solid metal, the surface of your dancing hare keyring will never flake like a silver plated keyring. To clean, simply wash with warm soapy water.
